News from Down Under – Teaching online during lockdown

We hope that all our Callan friends around the world are staying safe and well and coping with the challenges we’re all facing at this difficult time. Here’s a post from Tom Crvenkovic, the founder of Ace Language Academy, a Callan Accredited School in Melbourne, Australia, sharing his experience of moving to online teaching while the lockdown continues:
The current situation with COVID-19 has been difficult for everyone to adjust to as it’s brought many challenges to the way we work, connect and learn. We are so proud that at Ace Language Academy we have transitioned seamlessly to online English lessons. This has been a great opportunity as we are now able to teach our students from the comfort of their own homes!
Many of our students here in Melbourne are international students on a working-holiday or travel Visa, and are living away from the majority of their families and friends who are their support network and community. This has made this time challenging for them both emotionally and physically. We are so pleased that Ace Academy has been able to continue delivering high-quality online Callan English lessons. Being online has allowed our students to continue to learn, progress and perfect their English, and it’s given them something positive and constructive to look forward to in these challenging and uncertain times.
Here at Ace Language Academy, we are really passionate about helping students to improve and perfect their English and achieve their goals. The Callan Method works remarkably well online and the transition has been seamless. We can reach people not only in Melbourne, but all over Australia and indeed, the world! We’ve really enjoyed meeting and teaching new faces, and seeing the relief and joy students have with a bit of regular routine and productivity in their lives.
