Online training for Callan School Barcelona

Last week, we were delighted to be working once again with our good friends at Callan School Barcelona. The director, Silvia Perelló (in the centre of the screenshot above), is a great advocate of the Online Callan Classroom (OCC), which has helped her school to successfully navigate the difficult Covid period. She’s a firm believer that the OCC is the only way to teach effectively online with the Callan Method, and so she wanted her new intake of teachers to have some specialist online training sessions with us, to make sure that their online students enjoy the same high standard Callan lessons that the school has been delivering offline for many years.
Alison and I spent a very productive few days working with the group on their OCC teaching skills, and it was really great to see the teachers all make so much progress and build their confidence for handling online lessons. We look forward to working with them again soon – and hopefully we’ll be able to visit Silvia and her team in Barcelona again before too long!
Online teaching isn’t just about getting through the pandemic; it can help schools to reach more and more students who can’t make it to offline lessons for all kinds of reasons, and it looks set to be an increasingly popular choice in the future.
